Bring on the wod, but what the heck is a burpee?

You and Julia hang in there!

Susanna: Youtube search for burpee. Or just come by tomorrow evening and we'll do it together at the house. Have a 400m marked off and can use the bands on the pullup bar for scaling handstand pushups.

Plus, we'll get Mitch to demonstrate a few hundred burpees. ;)

Burpee (n.): unpleasant, tiring, and unpleasant ... but with a bit of practice, it gets a little less unpleasant

Other than that, sounds like a fun workout! How am I going to remember everything without it written on the whiteboard?

I have a yard, a shovel and a stick of pvc at home. Take as long as you need away from the gym.

Hey John, Sounds like Julia's WOD yesterday could be the toughest she's done.

As for today's workout, I did it twice. I did it all as RX'd except subbed one arm Kettlebell press, 35#/20 reps each arm, for handstand pushups. It seemed much harder and more time consuming than the band assisted, not sure about real HSPU's since I have yet to do one.

Round 1 time: 9:43 (lunch time)
    Round 2 time: 8:58 (evening)

Finished this one in 17:54 (ick). Did all pushups on toes... took a while. Subbed shoulder press (11.25 lbs. each) for HSPU.

Here is a link for an easy way to mark a running course at home. It uses google maps which seems fairly accurate. (kind of eery that my blackberry has google maps and it says it can locate my position within 3 meters!!):

    http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/

zoom in on the area you want, click the "start recording" and you can double click your points. It lets you calculate miles and km.

    John:

I did "Annie" in honor of Annie. 9:07, which is a PR by more than 3 minutes. Good omen. :)

    Scott:
Take a look at MapMyRun.com as well.

We must have a chat about those handstand pushups at our next class. I watched the video demo on the Crossfit website and went ahead and substituted dips for fear I would kill myself! I was sick Tuesday and just got to this workout today (Thursday). My time was 13:17.
