I read that getting the recommended amount of sleep every night can help control weight. One of the changes I'm making for the challenge is to consciously shoot for a reasonable bedtime.

Of course, a nap right about now wouldn't be terrible either... Dang mid-afternoon slump. Time for an orange!

"Hi. My name is Shilpa, and it's been four days since my last piece of chocolate."
Okay, so as you might have guessed, I've been cutting carbs. So far I'm okay, but I'm always hungry; thankfully it doesn't bother me too much. I usually just have an apple and then try to distract myself from the hunger. I've been good about eating fruit too; I highly recommend Sprouts for fruits and veggies.
I haven't seen any improvement in energy, or anything like that, but there is one thing that's improved: my willingness to get off my butt and cook something for dinner. Carbs are really easy and nourishing and make the hunger pangs go away, but they also make me lazy about actually cooking something to eat. I hadn't turned on my stove in a long time; now I'm constantly cooking or stir-frying something up.

First day back from Vegas and this workout hurt. Finished Helen in
11:44, a little worse than last time but I rx'd this time. (Last time used 30lb KB) Back on the zone today.

Lifting day today. Did main site WOD (part of it).
    Shoulder press 1-1-1-1-1 reps
    Push press 3-3-3-3-3 reps
    SP: 55-60-65-70-70
    PP: 55-60-65-70-75 (1 unassisted, 2 with help - PR)

Still on Zone, eating a lot more food (14+ blocks, 2x fat). Feeling stronger and have more energy the past few days.

12:45 ish for me. A new record!

I was so proud of myself.

As far as food goes, I haven't been too bad! Found ways around no grains without suffering too much. There's a soy substitute that taste just like wheat noodles to me!

I am feeling pretty darn good since I started to workout, my energy & focus has been phenomenal! My wife & daughter benefit the most as I don’t snore at night any more. I have been stuck right @ 240 lbs since day one…but I’m sticking strong to my diet (90% veggies and beans & spirulina / 10% lean meats) and getting in at least one workout a day (rest on Sunday) w/ minimal soreness. I still can’t seem to get my breath during most of these metabolic workouts, but I feel that my time’s will improve soon enough. Not a clue what my time was for today’s workout (circa 13 min).

I'm trying to cut out grains and add more protein, which is challenging because I have a history of eating meat maybe 3 times per week, and to top it off I'm a pastry chef- peddling grain-based confections all day long while attempting to cut them out. I'm LOVING the workouts every day, and after 5 days, I today I woke up and wasn't sore! I guess I'm getting used to it. Still have a lot of catching up to do; y'all's times are kicking my butt!
